Ethiopian singer is beaten by Nigerian singer Wizkid’s bodyguards in Addis concert
Bisrat 101.1 FM hosts reveal that a young vocalist was attacked by Whiz Kid’s bodyguards at the Gize concert last Saturday. 15,000 people attended. The singer’s name is Mentesenot Tesfay also known as Quni. He works with Hope Music and has released a song called ‘Call 911’. How did this happen? the journalists asked.
Mentesenot explained that he really likes WizKid and that he was at the wrong place at wrong time. The bodyguard pushed him when he approached the famous Nigerian singer and then hit him.
RAdio hosts ask if any of the security personnel and others came to his aid. He jokingly responded that some tried but couldn’t do much by way of stopping the bodyguard from attacking him. One of the hosts added that it is unethical and even criminal that he was attacked this way. At most the bodyguard should only move him off the premise, he said.
They add, that overall the concert was a huge success. They admire Jorka for their truly exemplary promotion, especially in the Bole area.
Over 1000 free tickets were handed out. 400 forged tickets led to arrests by police.

Zeritu Kebede spoke on Ethiopian unity at the concert. Radio hosts admired the performance, notably, Abdu Khair, a popular Ethiopian singer.
Wizkid is one of the leading African celebrities. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born in 1990 and has since risen to become a hugely popular artist in Africa and beyond.
